Biography
Aperera is a visual artist based in Miami, Florida since 2019, with an extensive artistic curriculum spanning various forms such as printmaking, painting, muralism, and sculpture, with the latter being his primary mode of expression.
Self-taught, his work is distinguished by a meticulous observation of natural forms and mastery of creative techniques, achieving a high level of detail and rich imagery typical of his rural heritage, where humans, animals, and plants take center stage. Influenced by certain surrealist trends in contemporary Cuban and international art, he has created a significant number of sculptures ranging from carved wood to ferrocement figurations, also venturing into the creation of reliefs and murals. His work is concrete evidence of the union between art and craftsmanship, particularly notable in his bronze works, the artist’s preferred material.
